Dungeon game evolution
This is where I will be placing my (currently unamed) dungeon game pre-releases. This can also be used to compare different versions.
First version, not much happening
Second version, now you can kill baddies
Third version, dungeon expansion, multiple enemies, player health bar
Fourth version, dungeon expansion, more enemies, retexture, potions
Only the latest released version and the experimental version have music. The rest don't because I deleted the music to make space.
0.5 is almost out!
Edit: taking a bit longer than expected due to accidentally breaking hit boxes. It's fixed now, so the release should soon go up. (if the stars align)
Nice! I like the microstudio animation :D
This is the fith version with changes to lighting and a new level
This game needs a name!
I cannot bear to have this game called
dungeon it's entire life like some generic dungeon game (which it is I guess).
It needs a name.
Pls post suggestions for a name in this thread and like your favourite ones. The suggestion with the most likes will get chosen. Please don't post rude names.
Very impressive. Well done. I had fun playing.
I'm bad with that, lol.
Maybe use this for inspiration:
There are many other game/dungeon generators out there. I use them myself to get ideas :)
This little project shows the new floor sprite that I am using
And this one shows all of the updated sprites that have the floor in them (click to see all)
EDIT: An interesting name came up on the name generator recommended by @TinkerSmith:
The Nightmare Crypt. I will probably use it unless more suggestions appear.
It definitely looks like a nightmare crypt :)
The game will from now on be called
Nightmare Crypt. In addition, it is now in BETA. Version 0.6 will be released later today.
This is the first Beta release for the game:
New features include endless mode and a new floor texture. There are other changes but they are mostly internal.
Soooo the server crash lost me all of my projects that I posted recently, and this was the only one I could salvage...

After nearly 4000 lines of code and two years... It's done.
I used to create pre-releases for this game before school work and life forced me to stop working on it. Recently I have picked up microstudio again, and have decided to finish what I started. Everything I originally wanted for the game is in there now, as well as some things I didn't know I wanted. I am not going to return fully to publishing projects on a regular basis, but I am still here. This is the full release of this game.
[Controls, credits and other information about the game is in the doc]
Edit: Oops, accidentally posted the wrong link
