It is a good engine in genral, its not as simple as microstudio and use's a programing language thats pretty esay to understand. in genral verry good. but you need a different program for art.
Godot is def not a bad engine. I would recommend it over Unity. It's more lightweight and easy to use, allowing you to easily put games together.
And yes, TedCodes, you obviously need a different program to make assets, most more advanced game engines don't have that. Personally, for that pixel look, I would recommend Aseprite or MagicaVoxel, they are both REALLY good. And for more complex stuff, you could learn blender.
Or, you simply go to opengameart.org and pick out some asset. But that requires you to credit all the maker of the assets and find fitting art.
